The multi-dimensional nature of poverty

The multi-dimensional nature of poverty

According to UNDP’S Human Development Report 1997 introduced the concept of human poverty. It urged that if income is not sum total of wellbeing, lack of income cannot be the sum total of poverty. Human poverty does not focus on what people do or do not have, but on what they can or cannot do.it is deprivation in the most essential capabilities of life, including leading a long and healthy life, being knowledgeable, having adequate economic provisioning and participating fully in the life of the community. It’s with great concern that the most and yet to be tackled situation of human-wildlife conflicts has not been given the much needed attention, if the communities are not actively engaged to participate fully in the conservation activities in and around the queen Elizabeth protected area, we risk losing more and valuable wildlife species.
